Connect to My Mac not working

every time i try to login to this app it says "Connection Failure Authentication failed. Make sure the password is correct." i know that my password and user name are correct. i followed all of the steps and i opened the proper port in my firewall settings. i am running lion on a macbook pro and i have downloaded the app on an iPad3. please help me
